Hey Blog Readers
So as you guys might know- I am spending much of my summer in Estes Park CO working at a lovely Christian camp up near Rocky Mountain National Park. This being said- being a camp counselor will affect the amount of time that I have to run. It is not like I won't be doing a lot of general exercise running after small kiddos. But actual running may be difficult to find time to do.
Being in training this past week, I actually got a chance to run twice. I know not as many as I would like to but it was the best I could do. Let me preface this by saying that this camp is at 8,952 feet above sea level. This makes the air quite thin to be honest. I found some people to run with me (even some at my currently slow speed). I started the first time and found it very difficult. I forgot to mention. Up here in the mountains it is also about 45 degrees in the morning. So its pretty dang cold!
The second time was, if I'm being completely honest, my best run ever. It was fairly easy to run and I could breathe for at least some of the time. It was a total of about two miles and I ran/walked it in a fairly good time. I was very pleased. I am going to try to keep it up up here so that when I get down the mountain, its going to be so much easier!
Thanks for the encouragement!
Dan
